What this guy did was add M5 bodywork to his base ass 525i. He had everything. Front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, and fenders with the vent. All unpainted and still rocking the 525 badge on the back.
Don’t take pictures while driving
I’m assuming none of this was cheap to do. I am baffled on why you wouldn’t just spend the extra
money to
get a 535 with a tune and other performance bits. That way you have a legitimately quick car that isn’t a poser-mobile for the same price as building this.

or... it’s really an m5 with a 525 badge and tow hitch just to throw us off! (That right front fender fit is awfully dicey too...)

WTF is an MCM?

You would be amazed at how many people put the show before the go.
Even when it comes to basic maintenance vs big chrome. Ive seen so many cars look the hotness but ride like theyre about to dissolve.
I can get wanting the look and not needing the speed. Heck, my Merc came with the sport package and I got AMG rims. 280 hp is good enough to commute anywhere. But i really wish people would put money to make a car safe first.

Man Crush Monday, some social media thing where people post guys they think are cute. There’s also WCW, Woman Crush Wednesday.

Plot twist: It Is An M5.
Probably not as it’s missing the dual exhaust. But it would be funny.
I once saw an STI on CL that had a full base model Impreza kit. It was painted powder blue, had no spoiler, and even had a scoopless hood and A stealthy FMIC. Plus some unassuming but still nice silver 17” wheels and the brake calipers were painted grey. The owner put a ton of work into making his factory hotboi Car into your aunt’s Impreza. And it was awesome.

LMAO I really wish it were. He would have gotten mad props

Hey my 3 series is only 250/month.

The reason? Its called a budget, not just for purchase but for running costs. A 535i comes with not only a higher price tag but higher repair costs compared to a NA I6.
If you are on a budget, especially for maintenance and repair of a 10 year old or so BMW, the last thing you want is a 535I or any BMW with an (n)35I in the back badge.
I would also recommend you are careful with tuning said turbo motor, especially with one with a lot of miles. I would save your money for the yellow lights popping up on your dask, carb cleaning because of direct injection and turbo repair, which will likely be around the corner.

lolol too true

So true. I have gti wheels on my beetle. But maintenance is up to snuff and I just liked the look haha

My thoughts exactly lol

That’s amazing. Single exhaust, poorly fit panels, and smol brakes gave him away lol

I thought the 25 and 35 were on par with their lack of reliability. Either way, if you are on a tight budget, maybe a 10 year old BMW with a body kit isn’t your best option.

I do get that though. They don’t want/need the power but like the look. in this case though, maybe a different
body kit so you aren’
t looking like a fake M5. At least he didn’t have a m5 badge on the back, yet.

I had to look it up.
“Man c rush Monday”
This answer just leads me to more questions than answers and further solidifies my feelings of disdain for all things twitter.

Not on the motor side, l uckily all the turbo stuff on my E90 was covered under warranty. Of course plenty of other stuff can go wrong besides the engine on a 10 year old BMW.
Definitely not the best car on a tight budget regardless, but then again, when are people really logical with their car choices, especially young tr endy folk who want to look cool.
The whole auto market new and used is based on what people want, not what they need. Otherwise it would be a boring world.

If he likes the look but left the badge, then he isn’t trying to fool people, so I give him a pass.

I kinda came to this realization replying to someone else. But, the fenders
do have an m5 logo in the vent. I would say if your just wanted a nicer looking 5 series, and didn’t want it to look like a pretend m5, you would leave these out. But he didn’t add any other badges so that does help his cause. Who knows what happens after he paints it though.

This is true but he could have paid the Lexus premium instead of BMW + body kit. Either way, it’s not my car, my decision, or my money. So it doesn’t matter what I think haha
![]() 08/08/2018 at 15:17 |

True, but a Lexus is what your Dad buys, may not be the look he is going for lol.

I also assume you don’t look like the guy in the photo.
